Life of a potential starving artist

Self-explanatory. A blog thing of some random nobody. Studies Art. Burdened with great purpose and ambitions. Sorting my life out. Mostly draws but may post anything.

I’ve made it to Plymouth, UK safe! It’s where I’ll be living for the next 2 years as I pursue an Illustration degree and question my life. It’s still the beginning of orientation week, and my hall is still half-constructed so I’ll be chilling in an Airbnb place for the moment. They’ve lost the bulk of my luggage on the way to London, but the stuff should be arriving anytime today as I write this post. Other than that, everything is alright. It’s a nicely cool in Plymouth, with some strong winds and spontaneous drizzles, but we carried enough on hand to last us until the luggage arrives :) Haven’t made a friend yet thus far, and I feel horribly insecure to suddenly be a “minority” but I’ll adapt. I adapt quickly. At least I won’t starve, and with three Poundlands nearby the school it means I won’t be overly broke either, hehehe.

Anyway, I’ll still need more time to settle in. I haven’t been to much of Europe, but Plymouth to me is like a mix of Amsterdam and a remote Danish town, set in England, and that’s just okay ;)

I wonder what kind of adventures await me here.

Oh my god I am finally done with my concept art short course. It’s been so cool and I’ve learned quite a lot within this few months. One step closer to dreams.

never thought this day would come so soon

So…I’ve actually applied for several universities in the UK, and the last of the responses came in an hour ago. Out of 6 applications in total I sent out, 5 of them were accepted and now…the time has come for me to make a decision. It’s going to be tough, probably the toughest decision I’m gonna make because it’s gonna shape the crucial next 2 years of my life, and it’s a decision I’m going to make entirely on my own.

I will be studying for a BA in Illustration.
